Entrevista com o Bra Boy Richie Vas Interview

Richie "Vas" Vaculik, so nicknamed because his surname was considered too tricky to pronounce, was born and bred in Maroubra, Sydney, where he still lives today.

A keen surfer for over 22 years, Richie met Mark as a kid in the waves and their friendship has remained constant throughout their lives.

After leaving school, Richie became a carpet layer, whilst continuing to chase big waves across Australia & the world across the Phillipines, Tahiti & Fiji with Mark.

Originally, Richie started training in martial arts as a way to focus his energies & keep fit in between surfing Big Waves but his obvious talent prompted trainers to suggest he train full time & compete in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

M&S: What changed in your kife since Bra Boys? Any new scartissues like this classis scene of your throat cut?
Richie: Haha, no not a lot has changed for me except i have been taking mma much more seriously and trying to stay busy with that..

M&S: How was to do the film "Fighting Fear"?
Richie: It was great. doing a film about you and your best mate and having another best mate as the director was a lot of fun. we got to go through europe with it and it was recieved really well, and we got some great feed back, a good experience with your best mates..

M&S: Any chance of a exibithion of Fighting Fear in Brazil?
Richie: Well Macario De Souza is a Brazilian/Aussie so i think it would be great to take it to Brazil. Also mma and surfing are very popular sports there so i think people will enjoy it. i have never been to Brazil either so i would love to see the place..

M&S: What you have to say to M&S about My Brothers Kepper?
Richie: It's a great brand, created by koby abberton, jed & kelly cambell. its doing good here and they just opened a shop at the beach..

M&S: How you see the differences about aussie localism and hawaiian localism?
Richie: I'ts a little different due to the way our coastlines are shape. in oz localism is divided between beaches and in hawaii localism is over more of a larger area. And it is more nessesary in hawaii because the waves are more dangerous...

M&S: Do you like some brazilian surfer?
Richie: I like watching young Gabriel Medina at the moment..exciting to watch.

M&S: And brazilian MMA fighters? Do you know about the Grace family jiu-jtsu?
Richie: Yeah i know a little bit. my trainer Brunno Panno trained under the Gracies and Royler gave him his black belt. royler and Royce have both came out to oz and taught at our acadamy. and i love the Gracie story...

M&S: What is worse a surf wipeout or a knockout in MMA?
Richie: A bad wipeout in the surf for sure..no doctors there, no help for anyone. the ocean does what it wants..

M&S: What is think that is the secret about to many great aussie surfs on tour?
Richie: I think its the commradary between the guys, they seem to push each other alot..

Richie "Vas" Vaculik, assim apelidado porque seu sobrenome era considerado muito complicado de pronunciar, nasceu e foi criado em Maroubra, Sydney, ondevive até hoje.

Surfista há mais de 22 anos, Richie conheceu Mark quando e criança nas ondas e essa amizade manteve-se constante ao longo de suas vidas.

Após deixar a escola, Richie começou a trabalhar com tapetes, mas continuou buscando ondas grandes em toda a Austrália e todo mundo, indo para Filipinas,Tahiti e Fiji com Mark.

Originalmente, Richie começou a treinar artes marciais como uma forma deconcentrar as suas energias e manter o ajuste entre o surfe em ondas grandes, mas o talento observado por seus professores trouxe a sugestão de que ele treinasse em tempo integral para competir no Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

M&S: O que mudou na sua vida desde Bra Boys? Novas cicatrizes como daquela cena de Bra Boys em que você aparece com a garganta cortada?
Richie: Haha, não, não, muita coisa mudou para mim, exceto que eu tenho me dedicado muito mais ao MMA, levando-o muito mais a sério e tentando me fixar nele ..

M&S: Como foi filmar "Fighting Fear"?
Richie: Foi ótimo. fazendo um filme sobre você e seu melhor amigo e ter outro melhor amigo como o diretor foi muito divertido. nós fomos para Europa com ele e fomos muito bem recebidos, e tivemos um bom retorno do filme, foi uma experiência boa com seu melhores amigos ..

M&S: Alguma chance de uma exibição de Fighting Fear nos cinemas do Brasil?
Richie: Como Macario De Souza é um brasileiro / australiano eu acho que seria ótimo para ele levá-lo para o Brasil. E o MMA e o surf são esportes muito populares por lá, então que eu acho que as pessoas vão se divertir. Eu nunca fui ao Brasil, então eu adoraria conhecer ..

M&S: O que você tem a dizer para Música e Surf sobre My Brothers Keeper?

Richie: É uma grande marca, criada por Koby Abberton, Jed e Kelly Campbell. E está indo muito bem por aqui e que acabaram de abrir uma loja na praia ..

M&S: Como você vê as diferenças sobre o localismo australiano e o localismo havaiano?

Richie: É um pouco diferente devido à forma como as nossas costas são. O localismo na Austrália é dividido entre as praias e no hawaii o localismo é ao longo de mais de uma área maior. E é mais nessesário no Havaí, porque as ondas são mais perigosa por lá ...

M&S: Você gosta de algum surfista brasileiro?

Richie: Eu gosto de ver jovens Gabriel Medina no momento .. é emocionante de assistir.

M&S: Você conhece o Jiu-Jitsu brasileiro família Grace?

Richie: Sim eu sei um pouco. meu treinador Brunno Panno foi treinado por Royler Gracie que lhe deu a faixa preta. Royler e Royce estiveream em nossa academia ensinando. e eu amo a história da família Gracie ...

M&S: O que é pior uma vaca no surf ou um nocaute no MMA?

Richie: Uma vaca no surf, com certeza .. não há médicos, não há ajuda alguma. o oceano faz o que quer ..

M&S: Qual é o segredo para tantos surfistas australianos se destacando to mundial de surf?

Richie: Eu acho que é a amizade entre os caras, eles se ajudam muito ..

Valley Floor

Valley Floor was born from the Australian festival circuit. A mutual love for music saw the band collaborating after crossing paths several times on their separate journeys.

The flower was eventually born of the seed, and Clay Macdonald (Bassist for The Beautiful Girls, Angus and Julia Stone), Jesse Bailey and Dan Briffa (Rogerthat) began putting together tracks in a poster walled laundry in the depths of Tallebudgera Valley in 2011.

The lads are at the forefront of a newly emerging genre from the Gold Coast coined ‘Jellyfish Rol’ -- the sound is surf-punk-blues-psych-stomp or The Atlantics meets Tumbleweed meets The Easybeats meets early Hoodoo Guru's meets Sunnyboys meets Celibate Rifles meets Tame Impala meets Black Keys.

The scene has fast gathered a loyal following amongst coastal kids who like a dance floor rummage, whilst still engaging an older generation who remember classic Australian Stomp parties.

Valley Floor are a return to the 60's stomp music that they, ironically, only learnt about as they grew up in the 80's.

Valley Floor surgiu dos circuitos de festivais musicais australianos. Um amor mútuo pela música fez a banda se formar depois de vários cominhos percorridos pelos integrantes vezes em suas jornadas separadas.

A flor acabou nascendo da semente, e Clay Macdonald (O baixista de The Beautiful Girls, Angus and Julia Stone), Jesse e Dan Bailey Briffa (Rogerthat) e a banda começou a se reunir em uma lavanderia murada nas profundezas do Tallebudgera Vale em 2011.

Os rapazes estão na vanguarda de um gênero emergente da Gold Coast cunhado'Jellyfish Rol "- o som é surf, punk, blues, psych, stomp com influências de The Atlantics, Tumbleweed, Easybeats, Hoodoo Guru's, Sunnyboys, Celibate Rifles, Tame Impala e Black Keys.

A cena foi rápida e reuniu um público fiel entre as crianças costeiras que gostam de um "rummage pista de dança", apesar de ainda envolver uma geração mais velha que se lembram dos clássicos da Australian parties Stomp.

Valley Floor são um retorno à música vibrante dos anos 60 que, que ironicamente só foi aprendida ao cresceram na década de 80.

M&S: About the fast visit to Brazil... there's something special that you remember?

Kaleo: I remember how passionate the kids were watching us,,, very welcoming and friendly just having a really good time.... And the rest of my band almost not making it back alive do to the caprihinas.....

M&S: A lot of fans from Brazil can't go to SWU and are waiting you in brazil again. When Pepper will be comeback?

Kaleo: We will be touring Brazil from now on for the rest of our lives... The tours that we will do from now on will span the globe and we are excited to see RIO

M&S: Bret said to M&S Música & Surfe that the album will be the energy of a Pepper live performance, you can give more details about this new album?

Kaleo: The new album is something me and the boys have been waiting to record for years,,,

The songs are right, the feel is right, and the timing is right. I Just feel so grateful to be doing what we are doing.

M&S: Any expectate for release a new Pepper DVD Live?

Kaleo: There will be a knew DVD documenting Pepper's " End Of The World Party" in Kona on 12/21/12. We Figure That if the world does end why not have all of are friends around the world meet us there? not a bad place to watch the world slip away, right?. And if the world doesn't end, at least the next day you'll have a DVD to see how you Party Like it was the end of the world!.....

M&S: It's almost ten years since Pepper presents Arena Productios Aftaparty? Any expect for new reunion...?

Kaleo: Those guys our are friends for life... we see each other a few times a year and its always like we never left each other,,, Wow... 10 years huh,,
I think a reunion is a great idea..i'll talk to the boys...

M&S: What inspires Pepper songs?

Kaleo: I think all the songs we write come from life experiences and imagination.

What i think is that if a song inspires you, It was made for you. No matter who wrote its in your life at the time you needed it...Were here to serve...

M&S: The new version of Ho's that you played in John Lennon Bus is Great! There's any possibilities about you record old songs with a new version for the new album?

Kaleo: Interesting enough, there are a mix of old songs never recorded from Kona Town and no shame that we have had for years, And some new songs we have worked out..

M&S: I see your interview for Seavoices... What you think about FIRN.life amd ocean wareness?

Kaleo: The Ocean is my home, in the truest sense. There is no place i would rather be.
So i think about this, All the pleasure, and smiles she gives to me FREE...
I Feel that i need to protect her as much as i possibly can from the damage we all do.
Both unconsciously and consciously..Sea voices and F.I.R.N our two of my favorite nature awareness alias.

M&S: What are you thinking about the performance of the hawaians on ASP World Tour?

Kaleo: I think the talent is solid,,, The chicks our ruling it!!!
Hawaii hopes for John John,,,,

M&S: Do you have any brazilian surfer that like?

Kaleo: A lot,,,hard question cause theres so much... Mario Bracão, Gabriel Medina, Maya Gabeira charges brah!!!!

M&S: When John Frusciante left Red Hot Chili Peppers I was afraid about they contact you to be their new guitarrist and you get out Pepper... Did you received any contact? What you think about this new Chili Peppers Record?

Kaleo: RHCP is one of my all time FAV'S

JF is an amazing, beautiful, TONE rich guitar player... I have learned a lot from his playing and style.. No matter what happens to them im just happy they shared what the needed to..

And No........ i did not get the call for that job, But i think they just lost my number,,,, ;-)

M&S: How was play this end of Year with Sublime With Rome in Hawaii? BTW what you think about their first record "Yours Truly"?

Kaleo: It Was fun to play with a band you Love listing to,,, Just amazing to be in hawaii and have such a good line up with them and iration... And, unfortunately i havent been able to dive into there new album yet do to the fact of being so busy with pepper and sabo, But Im sure I'll get a chance one of these days and most likely love it... Rome is a great guy and very talented and of course eric and bud are such a power house rhythm section.

M&S: Are you a The Beautiful Girls Fan? do you need check Kid Mac... he made a song with Mat Mchugh from TBG. Kid Mac do a really nice Indie/Hip-Hop/Eletro, will be a good artist to join Law Records with Splinta...

Kaleo: Love the beautiful girls, We toured with them in the states years ago,,, great guys and great musicians... And thanks for the head's up on KID MAC... Law records is always on the look out for great new artiest...

M&S: I read on one that you interviews that you like soccer... Do you have any brazilian favorite players... What's your team?

Kaleo: yup,,, HUGE Football fan.... i don't call it soccer.
And brazil has some of my All time favs!! As of right now PATO IS THE FUCKING MAN and plays for my club team AC MILLAN..

M&S: When Pepper will make a romantic song?

Kaleo: maybe the next record?? but i doubt it ;-)

Kaleo: O novo álbum é algo que eu, Bret e Yesod estávamos esperando para gravar durante anos,,,
As músicas estão bem, a sensação está muito boa, e é a hora certa. Eu me sinto muito grato por estar fazendo o que estamos fazendo.

M&S: Alguma expectativa para o lançamento de um novo DVD da banda?

Kaleo: Haverá um DVD documentando Pepper no "End Of The World Party (Festa do Fim Do Mundo)" Que terá Pepper em Kona em 12/21/12. Nós pensamos que se o mundo acabar por não ter todos os seus amigos de todo o mundo reunidos para nos encontrar lá? não é um mau lugar para ver o mundo acabar, certo?. E se o mundo não acaba, pelo menos no dia seguinte você vai ter um DVD para ver como você foi a FESTA DO FIM DO MUNDO !.....

M&S: São quase 10 anos desde que Pepper apresentou o álbum "Aftaparty" da Arena Productios? Alguma possibilidade de uma nova reunião da Arena Productions...?

Kaleo: Esses caras são nossos amigos para a vida ... nos vemos algumas vezes por ano e é sempre como se nunca tivéssemos ficado tanto tempo longe,,, Wow ... 10 anos hein,,
Eu acho que uma reunião é uma ótima idéia .. Vou falar com eles ...

M&S: O que inspira as canções da banda?

Kaleo: Eu acho que todas as músicas que escrevemos vêm de experiências de vida e da imaginação.

O que eu acho é que se uma canção que te inspira, Ela foi feita para você. Não importa quem escreveu, ela esteve na sua vida no momento em que você precisou dela ... estava aqui para servir ...

M&S: A nova versão do Ho's que vocês tocaram para John Lennon Bus é ótima! Há alguma chance dessas músicas que vocês já gravaram, virem com uma nova versão para o novo álbum?

Kaleo: Interessante isso, pois também há várias músicas antigas nunca gravadas de Kona Town e de No Shame que temos há anos, e algumas músicas novas também...

M&S: Eu vi sua entrevista para Seavoices ... O que você pensa sobre FIRN.life e a proteção dos oceanos?

Kaleo: O oceano é minha casa, no sentido mais verdadeiro. Não há lugar que eu preferia estar.
Então eu penso sobre isso, Todo o prazer, e os sorrisos, que ele me dá de GRAÇA ...

Eu sinto que eu preciso para protegê-la tanto quanto me for possível dos danos que todos nós fazemos. Ambos inconscientemente e conscientemente .. Seavocies e F.I.R.N.life são os meus dois favoritos sobre a consciência da natureza.

M&S: O que você está achando do desempenho dos havaianos no ASP World Tour?

Kaleo: Eu acho que o talento é sólido,,, As garotas estão arrasando!
Hawaii tem esperanças em John John,,,,

M&S: Alguma surfista brasileiro que você admira?

Kaleo: Um monte,,, pergunta difícil porque tem muitos ... Mario Bracão, Gabriel Medina, Maya Gabeira Muito bons!!!!

M&S: Você recebeu algum contato quando John Frusciante deixou o Red Hot Chili Peppers? O que você pensa sobre este novo Registro Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Kaleo: RHCP é um dos meus favoritos d etodos os tempos;

JF é um incrível, belo, com uma som muito rico em sua guitarra ... Eu aprendi muito com sua forma de tocar e estilo .. Não importa o que aconteça com o RHCP eu estarei feliz deles estarem compartilhando o que eles fizerem .. E não....... Eu não recebi o convite para esse trabalho, mas acho que foi porque eles acabaram perdendo o meu número ,,,, ;-)

M&S: Como foi tocar no final de 2011 com Sublime With Rome no Havaí? A propósito o que você ouviu o ábum deles "Yours Truly"?

Kaleo: Foi divertido tocar com uma banda que você ama escutar,,, simplesmente incrível estar no Havaí e tocar com eles e com Iration também ... E, infelizmente não pude escutar o novo álbum pelo fato de estar tão ocupado com Pepper e Sabotage Soundsystem, Mas com certeza quando tiver uma chance um diad estes eu escutarei, provavelmente irei amá-lo ... Rome é um grande cara e muito talentoso e, claro, Eric e Bud são uma potência na seção rítmica da casa.

M&S: Você é fã da banda The Beautiful Girls? Você precisa conferir Kid Mac ... ele já fez uma música com Mat Mchugh da TBG. Kid Mac faz um Indie / Hip-Hop / Eletro muito bom, seria um bom nome para se juntar ao SPLINTA na Law Records...

Kaleo: Amo The Beautiful Girls, Nós viajamos com eles nos Estados Unidos anos atrás,,, grandes caras e grandes músicos ... E obrigado pela dica do KID MAC ... Law Records está sempre buscando novos grandes artistas.

M&S: Eu li em uma entrevista que você gosta de "soccer", você admira algum jogador do Brasil? Qual seu time?

Kaleo: Sim,,, sou um grande fã de "football" .... eu não chamo de "soccer"

E o Brasil tem alguns dos meus favoritos de todos os tempos! No momento o PATO ESTÁ DESTRUINDO e joga no meu time AC Millan ..

M&S: Quando Pepper fará uma balada romântica?

Kaleo: talvez no próximo álbum? mas eu duvido ;-)

Marcelo Trekinho Was born in Rio de Janeiro and lived in Recreio until whe was 8 years old. He moved to Leblon where he learned to skate and started surfing at 12. At 15 he began competiting, and while 6 years old he made his fist trip to Hawaii. He has returned to the North Shore every year since. By 18 years old he finished high scholl and then did everything possible to become a pro surfer.

At 19 he became profissional, but only after winning the Maresias event of the Brazilian tour three years later did he become recognized. There he scored three perfect 10s in the same competition.

The nickname Trekinho (small stuff) came from the time when he used to skate on the strees of Leblon. All his friends were older and he was the smallest of the crew. One his friends called him Treko nand it Stuck.

He had a few local surfers as his mentors, such as Beto Cavallero, Ze Roberto, Vini, and Spirro, but his great here of all time was Shane Dorian. Treko used to watch Shanes surfing, go out and try make his style just like Shanes.

M & S: Do you plan to continue as freesurfer or plan to return to the World Tour?

Trekinho: I will continue this year as a free surfer. I attend events in tow and tow out.

M & S: What did you think of the world event back to Rio?

Trekinho: The circuit around Rio is amazing. Our chance to see what is most modern in the surf.

M & S: What are your favorite surf films?

Trekinho: Surf films like the series "Cambito". All of the Mellin surfilms and all of Taylor Steele.

M & S: What are your favorites surfers?

Trekinho: Shane Dorian, Binho Nunes, Medina.

M & S: Do you think Brazil has never been so close to a world title now emerging with Gabriel Medina?

Trekinho: Medina will be world champion sometimes.

M & S: What about the chances of being world champion Adriano?

Trekinho: Adriano did a great job showing what can be champion. Do not think he will win the title, but it definitely changed the way the Brazilians towards the title.

M&S: Have you traveled around the world. How do you see the differences betweenlocalism in Hawaii, Australia and Brazil?

Trekinho: Localism is everywhere. There are bags by Australia, Brazil and United States. Reach with respect and wait your turn in the water is a good solution tocatch waves in peace.

M & S: Have you guys a musical cue that ties in Music and Surf ...

Trekinho: MC Fox and Dedeco of dibob "Emprego Novo". Rock mixed with "forró" and the letter is too much.

M & S: You develop a social project connected to surfing?

Trekinho: Every year I participate in VQS. Volcom event for kids with free registration. The prize money is very good and we contest on the beach all day withthe kids. We exchanged ideas and has already launched various talents as Medina and. Miguel Pupo and others have raced the event and are what they are today.

Marcelo Trekinho nasceu no Rio de Janeiro e morou no Recreio até os 8 anos onde aprendeu a andar de skate o começou a surfar com 12 anos. Aos 15 começou a competir e aos 16 viajou pro Hawaii pela primeira vez onde sempre voltou em todas as temporadas. Terminou a escola e fez de tudo o que pode para iniciar sua carreira como surfista.

Aos 19 anos se profissionalizou, mas só entrou realmente no cenário das competições após vencer seu primeiro evento como profissional em Maresias no ano de 2002. Lá conseguiu um feito inédito ao tirar três notas 10 durante o último dia do evento.

O apelido Trekinho veio da época em que andava de skate nas ruas do Leblon. Seus amigos eram todos mais velhos e ele era o menor da turma. Um dos seus amigos o chamou de Treko e o apelido ficou.

Teve como referência os locais do Leblon Beto Cavallero, Zé Roberto, Vini, Spirro e seu grande ídolo o havaiano Shane Dorian. Treko costumava assistir aos vídeos de Shane e depois ir pra água imitar seu estilo.

M&S: Você acha que o Brasil nunca esteve tão perto de um título mundial agora com o Gabriel Media despontando?

Trekinho: Medina será campeão do mundo algumas vezes.

Trekinho: Mineiro fez um grande trabalho mostrando que pode ser campeão. Não acho que ele ganhará o titulo, mas definitivamente mudou o trajeto dos brasileiros rumo ao título.

M&S: Você já viajou por todo mundo. Como você vê as diferenças entre o localismo no Havaí, Australia e no Brasil?

Trekinho: Localismo tem em todo lugar. Há pela sacos Australianos, Brasileiros e Americanos. Chegar com respeito e esperar sua vez na agua é uma boa solucao pra pegar ondas em paz.

M&S: Dê uma dica musical pra galera que se amarra em Música e Surf...

Trekinho: Mc Fox e Dedeco do dibob no som Emprego Novo. Misturaram forró com Rock e a letra é demais.

M&S: Você desenvolve algum projeto social ligado ao surfe?

Trekinho: Todo ano participo do VQS. Evento da Volcom com inscricao gratuita pra molecada. A premiacao é muito boa e fazemos gincana na praia o dia todo com os moleques. Trocamos ideias e já lançamos vários talentos como o próprio Medina. Miguel Pupo e outros ja correram o evento e hoje são o que são.

M&S: Como é poder representaros Bra Boys através da sua música?

Kid Mac: Minha música tem muitainfluência do lugar onde eu cresci e de eu ser um Bra Boy. Mas eu tento não meconcentrar apenas nisso, tratando também de outros temas que dizem respeito a vida.Eu tenho muito orgulho do lugar de onde vim e fico muito feliz pelos fãs quesão inspirados pela minha música.

M&S: O que você tem a dizersobre o seu álbum de estreia?

Kid Mac: Meu álbum de estreiaestá previsto para ser lançado em Março de 2012. O título é "No MansLand". Este álbum é uma mistura de indie rock e electro e Hip Hop. Éresultado de três anos de trabalho e eu estou muito orgulhoso dele.

M&S: Qual a relação entre seunovo filme “Fighting Fear” e seu primeiro filme Bra Boys?

Kid Mac: Fighting Fear não é umBra Boys 2. Mas o meu segundo filme. Mas traz dois Bra Boys e uma históriatambém nascida em Maroubra, assim como em Bra Boys. Mas este novo filme é sobredois amigos - Mark Mathews e Richie Vaculik e sobre os seus altos e baixos na vidaao crescerem juntos.

M&S: Fighting Fear teráexibição no Brasil?

Kid Mac: Estamos esperando olançamento do filme no Brasil. Eu acho que os brasileiros podem se identificarcom o filme muito pelos temas que aparecem como a amizade e a redenção desses doiscaras que perseguem seus sonhos. Mas acho também que os brasileiros podemcurtir as grandes ondas surfadas e o MMA.

M&S: É verdade que vocêqueria ser jogador de futebol e chegou a treinar no Brasil? Você tem algum time de futebol no Brasil?

Kid Mac: Sim. Quando eu tinha 16anos, eu fui para Belo Horizonte para treinar com o time juvenil do AtléticoMineiro por algumas semanas. Meu pai torce para o Cruzeiro, mas por ter me juntado a equipe do Atlético mineiro,eu sou é Galo!

M&S: Como você começou afazer música?

Kid Mac: Eu comecei a tocarguitarra na escola e o meu interesse partiu daí. Experimentei diversos sons,muitos tipos de música e ao longo dos anos desenvolvi meu próprio som. Aprendia produzir música na universidade fazendo Fine Arts (Belas Artes).

M&S: Quais surfistas vocêadimira? E você tem algum surfista brasileiro favorito?

Kid Mac: Eu realmente gosto deassistir Joel Parkinson surfar, ele tem um estilo tão suave. Mick Fanningtambém é um dos meus favoritos, assim como Taj Burrow e eu não canso deassistir Kelly Slater competir. Owen Wright é um surfista muito bom também.Mas meus favoritos mesmo são os irmãos Irons. Eu amo tudo que elesrepresentam. RIP A.I. Sobre os brasileiros, Gabriel Medina é ótimo. E eleparece ser um cara muito humilde também.

M&S: O que inspirou o vídeode sua nova música "Nobody Sleep Nobody Get Hurt" ?

Kid Mac: Filmamos cenas de noitenum pico chamado Ours para o filme “Fighting Fear” e eu queria algumas cenas dofilme nessa nova canção. Minha ideia foi adicionar a história dos zumbis paratornar divertido e mostrar Mark Mathews, Richie Vas e eu atuando nisso. A ideiade três melhores amigos empenhando-se intensamente em suas carreiras. Por issoa ideia do surfe a noite toda até o sol aparecer, do mesmo modo que eu façominhas coisas com a música.

M&S: Que músicos ou bandasbrasileiras você curte?

Kid Mac: Eu tive muita sorte emfazer uma turnê com Marcelo D2 na Austrália. Eu amo sua música. Muito boa. E eutambém cresci ouvindo Roberto Carlos, porque minha mãe adorava a sua música! Euamo samba, em geral, e estou ansioso para o Carnaval do próximo ano no Brasil!

M&S: Quando você virá parashows no Brasil?

Kid Mac: Eu estou indo para oBrasil em Janeiro, com The Beautiful Girls para 10 shows. Datas serão anunciadasem breve. Estou muito animado sobre a ida ao Brasil!

M&S: O que você pensa sobre olocalismo? Que diferença você vê entre o localismo australiano e localismohavaiano?

Kid Mac: O localismo está apenascuidando de sua casa e o seu próprio povo. Algumas pessoas levam para fora deproporção e vão longe demais. Eu acho que é importante encontrar o equilíbriocerto. Seja respeitoso com cada lugar que você visita e vice-versa. No Hawaii édiferente, eles têm que ser bastante sólidos porque suas as ondas não são paratodos. Se alguém for estúpido na água, pode se machucar e machucar os outros.Então, eles realmente precisam olhar o localismo de uma forma que isto é dointeresse de todos, já que os locais conhecem bem melhor as ondas de lá.

M&S: How is to can represent Bra Boys with yourMusic?

Kid Mac: My earlier music was derived a lotfrom where I grew up and being a Bra Boy etc. But I try and not be so specificanymore and make it more about themes and morals that everyone can relate to. Iam very proud of where I come from and I get satisfaction out of fans who areinspired by my music.

M&S: What you have to say about your debut album?

KidMac: My debut album is scheduled for a release inMarch 2012. The title is "No Man’s Land". It is going to be a mix ofindie rock / electro and hip hop. It's been 3 years in the making and I am veryproud of it.

M&S: What the realtion between your new movie“Fighting Fear” and your movie Bra Boys?
Kid Mac: This is not Bra Boys 2. It is just mysecond film and includes two Bra Boys and another story born in Maroubra. Butthis new film is all about two friends - Mark Mathews and Richie Vaculik andtheir ups and downs in life of becoming men.

Kid Mac: It's true that you go back to Brazil to be asoccer player? Do you have a soccer brazilian team?

Kid Mac: When I was 16, I went to Belo Horizonte totrain with Atletico Mineiro juvenile squad for a couple of weeks. My Dad goesfor Cruzeiro but because I was there training with the team, I am attached toGalo!

M&S: How you starting to make music?

Kid Mac: I started playing the guitar in high school andit went on from there. Experimented with a lot different sounds and types ofmusic and over the years developed my own sound. I learnt how to produce musicin University.

M&S: What's your favorite surfer? And your favoritebrazilian surfer?

Kid Mac: I really enjoy watching Joel Parkinson surf, hehas a smooth style. Mick Fanning is also one of my favorites as it Taj and Ican never get sick of watching Kelly Slater compete. Owen Wright is also veryexciting to watch. My all time favorite surfers would be the Irons Brothers. Ilove what they are all about. RIP A.I.! As for Brazilians, Gabriel Medina isgreat to watch. He seems like a very humble guy as well!

M&S: What inspired the music video for "NobodySleep Nobody Get Hurt"?

Kid Mac: We shot the Ours Night surfing scene for themovie Fighting Fear and I wanted to incorporate that into the music video so myidea was to add this zombie theme for a bit of fun and get Mark Richie and Iacting a little scene out. It’s the idea of three best mates hustling in theircareers (hence nobody sleep). The boys surf all night till the sun comes up andI do my thing with my music.

M&S: Do you have some favorite brazilian music?

Kid Mac: I was lucky enough to tour with Marcelo D2 inAustralia. I love his music. Very chilled. I also grew up listening to RobertoCarlos because my mum loved his music! I love samba in general and am lookingforward to the Carnaval next year in Brazil!

M&S: When you will come for a show in Brazil?

Kid Mac: I am coming to Brazil in January with TheBeautiful Girls for 10 shows in Brazil. Dates will be announced very soon. I amvery excited about coming to Brazil!!

M&S: What you think about localism? You see somedifference about aussie localism and hawaiian localism?

Kid Mac: Localism is looking after your home and yourown people. Some people take it out of proportion and go too far, and somepeople don’t enforce it enough. I think it’s important to find the rightbalance. Be respectful with every place you visit and vice versa. Hawaii isdifferent, they have to be pretty solid their because the waves aren't foreveryone. If your stupid out in the water, you can not only hurt yourself, butothers. So they really do need to look out for everyones interest over therebecause the locals know best.

Noelani: My beautiful island surroundings are so inspiring. Living on the North Shore is so special! Everyday I get to see the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean and feel the sand on my feet. I love the positive vibrations I feel from my community and my loved ones. I am inspired to make beautiful designs for women all over the world to feel my happiness and feel beautiful!

M&S: How is the presence of beach and seain your design?

Noelani: I think the colors of the ocean arealways an intricate part of my design- the varying tones of blues and greens,as well as incorporating shells and pearls.

M&S: How did you start to create your owndesigns?

Noelani: I started creating jewelry for myfriends as Christmas gifts, and they loved them. I started to make more when Iwas attending University as a creative hobby, and I enjoyed the process ofcreating something beautiful to wear. Now I get to create beautiful pieces forwomen all over the world to wear and enjoy!

M&S: What's your favorites surf artists?

Noelani: One of my favorite artists right nowis Daina Deblette Scarola-she is a painter from Canada and has a very uniquestyle of painting the surf. Very impressionistic and exhibits an emotionalfeeling of love for the ocean.

M&S: Do you surf?

Noelani: I love to bodyboard and bodysurf, and sometimes I practice longboarding or shortboarding. But I really love to bodysurf and bodyboard 2-4 foot surf and am looking forward to getting lots of good barrels this winter!!

M&S: Pepper it's the most famous band from Hawaii do you know them?

Noelani: I do enjoy listening to Pepper- I have not met them nor have I seen them in concert yet, but I would love to some day. I love their passion for music and life and the way they creatively express themselves is a great for humanity. Aloha, Noelani

M&S: How did you start The Crazy Carls?

Alex: While going to school at UCF in Orlando I met a bassist, Crazy Carl.Crazy Carl and I would jam at parties all night. From there we got moremusicians involved and started playing shows all over the place! Crazy Carl hadto move away, but I decided to keep the party going!

M&S: How surf inspires The Crazy Carls music?

Alex: Surfing inspires my music in so many ways, it puts me in a creativestate and it relaxes me. Many songs I've written have been started in thelineup or after a good session.

M&S: The song "Forgive me" will be released when? When theband will release a LP?

Alex: "Forgive me" is one of the first songs I've ever written! Ihaven't thought about releasing it again, maybe I'll throw it on a LP for you!

M&S: Are you a Kelly Slater fan, like you he is from Florida?

Alex: Ke11y Slater is my favorite surfer! He's the best, I'm a huge fan. I'vemet him a couple of times, he's a very down to earth guy.

M&S: What your favorite musicians and bands?

Alex: Since I was young, I've always been a massiveRed Hot Chili Peppers fan! These days I've been jamming on a lot of dance musicand I'm really getting into Prince, he's a badass.

M&S: The new versions for the songs are greats, but the firstversion of Ocean Floor is so cool. Tell us about the changes on thesongs.

Alex: Thanks! "Ocean Floor" is one of my favorite songs for sure.The older version is much slower and rough sounding. I worked with an awesomeproducer, Travis Huff for my latest songs. Claire Gorman is a 24-year-old filmmaker wholives on Phillip Island, in Victoria. In her last year of high school, Claire made adocumentary based on the surfers of Phillip Island titled, Liquid Pictures.Liquid Pictures was aired on Channel 31's 'Soul Water Surf' and was selectedfor The South Gippsland Youth Film Festival.

After graduating high school in 2005, Clairetraveled the world, gaining inspiration and motivation to start her firstfeature film, First Love, which she directed, filmed and co-edited. In betweenmaking First Love, she landed herself a job as a camera assistant, workingalongside world-renowned wildlife cinematographer, David Parer. David taughtClaire everything she would have learnt in a classroom, and much more. FirstLove went on to have a theatrical release with Village Roadshow in Australia in2011, where it played in 30 cinemas around the country. It was selected for anumber of film festivals around the world and won Best Documentary at theX-Dance Film Festival in Utah, where Claire also picked up the award forEmerging Filmmaker.

Her short film Eddie which captures some of theaction and the magic from the 2009 Quicksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau atWaimea Bay premiered in Hawaii at the North Shore Film Festival in late 2010,and has since been selected for a number of surf film festivals around the world.Sheis now working on her next feature focusing on women's big wave surfing.

M&S: Who are your favorite surfers?

At the moment, I love watching Carissa Moore. Keen to see how she does against the boys at the Triple Crown.

M&S: How was your visit in Brazil? And specially in Rio de Janeiro?

Claire: Brazil was amazing. I loved it! I want to come back. My favourite place we visited was Guarujah A beautiful beach with the best caparinjah's in the world. I also loved Rio. We went up in a helicopter over Copacabana which was amazing, but I had been vomiting all night from food poisoning, so it was a little sketchy.

M&S: How was be on tour with The Beautiful Girls and Kid Mac?

Claire: Touring with TBG and Kid Mac was two completely different experiences and I loved them both.

M&S: Any plans for a new surf film?

Claire: At the moment, I'm working on a film on women who surf big waves with two girls, Mercedes Maidana, from Argentina, and Wrenna Delgado from USA.

M&S: How began the idea for "First Love" film?

Claire: The idea for First Love came about when I really wanted to make a film on girls surfing as i could see the level of the sport was getting much better. I knew the three girls in the film from school, so I started following them around with my camera.

M&S: How you start to work with video create?

Claire: I started getting into film and photography when I was around 12. And it gradually developed from a hobbie to a profession. But it has always been a passion.

M&S: When are you coming to Brazil again?

Claire: I don't have any plans to come back to Brazil at the moment. But I hope to come back as soon as I can. I would love to visit the Amazon.

Drew ("Andrew Miller") Toonz is an artist and animator living on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. For over a decade, Drew has been painting murals for the Triple Crown of Surfing, including the prestigious Pipeline Masters event. More recently, Drew's passion is in animation, and he has produced several films for Volcom, the North Shore Lifeguard Association, the rock band PEPPER and the Global Mana Foundation. As a featured artist at the Green Room Festival in Yokohama, Japan 2011, he is highly recognized as an artist within the international art and surf art community.

M&S: How did you start to make draws?

Drew: I started drawing pictures of dinosaurs and Spiderman at a young age.

M&S: How you turn you art professional?

Drew: My big break in animation came when Volcom asked me to do "Dawn of the Stone-Age"

M&S: How begin the work with Pepper?

Drew: Pepper used to watch my cartoons on their tour bus, and called me up to do some jobs for them... I started with some flyers and did their latest album cover.

M&S: What inspires your art and your draws?

Drew: Life death and everything in between.

M&S: How the surf inspires your art?

Drew: Surfing is pretty much the coolest thing to do as a sport and hobbie... it's almost like a religion.

M&S: How comes the idea for Surf Skool?

Drew: I used to teach surfing on north shore... although its exagerated alot of the ideas came from my life.

M&S: Who are your favorite artist?

Drew: I like the animators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, who made South Park.

M&S: What's your favorites bands?

Drew: I like Pepper, and The Strokes.

The BigIsland of Hawaii will once again host the Kona Surf Film Festival, now in its8th Year! Running Dec. 2nd and 3rd, 2011 at the beautiful Maunalani Bay Hoteland Bungalows, the Festival is a great community event that showcases thenewest, most obscure, and most interesting surf films from around theworld. This year the Festival willbenefit the Seathos Foundation, a non-profit group committed to the health ofour oceans, as well as supporting the Surfrider Foundation the Kona toCalifornia Scholarship. The KonaSurf Film Festival is a creation of Kona local Chad Campbell and his friends& family. M&S: How is it to live surrounded in Kona by so great musicians like Pepper, Iration, Kimie, Splinta, Southern Cumiford and Tiffany Rose Brown and David Lawrence of course?

Tiffany Rose Brown: Kona is such a hotbed for truly extraordinary people! It’s inspiring and humbling and exciting to live here… I feel really lucky to personally know a lot of my own musical influences. I love watching everyone come up. Those artists have literally soundtracked my life, and been huge inspirations for my own progress and projects… There is something so rad about watching someone get an idea, set it in motion, and have it carry them around the world. There’s also this really great feeling of swelling with pride, being in the middle of all these people working hard and making things happen for themselves and making music that moves the masses. Watching them improve and evolve and share the love, and it’s like, they’re from here. I’m from here. YES!

M&S: What do you have to say about FIRNlife from Hawaii?
Tiffany Rose Brown: I am so proud of Haj's work and his philosophy. I think the first step in fighting ignorance is teaching respect, and he strives for that with raising awareness in his campaign. He's really, really supportive of a lot of events here locally that are good for the keiki and the aina. FIRN!

M&S: How would you describe your music? I listened to the two songs that are at Keroselle myspace and they are great.

Tiffany Rose Brown: Two words: In progress! Ha ha… I am learning so much right now and really trying to hone in on how I want to sound. Those songs were fun for me to do… But now the first one is probably pushing five years old? Wow. We did the other one much later, so that’s getting up there in the years too. The new things I’m working on are really eclectic. I’m in a much better place to communicate exactly what I want my music to sound like, which I didn’t really have the chops for back then. I was really lucky to get hooked up with Glen, and then Felts and Stryker from XXXVII... they have a lot of the same sensibilities that I do and took those in a good direction. I think my music is honest. And sometimes angry. Hehe. I don’t want to be an angry artist, but I find that when I’m angry is mostly when I write, because I’ll explode if I don’t. I rarely write when I’m stoked, cause I’m busy off somewhere being stoked. I’ve been riding this extreme high over the last year or so, and so writing has been at a standstill for a while… Overall, I like to think of myself as Truth, Soul, and Rock and Roll.

M&S: When did you start to make music?

Tiffany Rose Brown: I feel like I haven’t really started yet! I’ve got all this unfinished stuff floating around… I first began singing when the boys were playing out in Cali probably ten or twelve years ago? They would indulge me from time to time, which was really encouraging. But I was terrible. We recorded those Keroselle songs on the net and I still didn’t really know what I was doing. Well, even now I still don’t know what I’m doing… but those were my first originals. I’ve always been a writer, but I didn’t start writing songs till about five years ago. I didn’t start singing in a real way until I met David Lawrence, and we are just coming up on a year of performing together.

M&S: When will you release new music?

Tiffany Rose Brown: Hopefully soon! I’m fleshing out a couple of originals right now and hoping to polish them up with Bret this winter.

M&S: How is to be the sister of Kaleo Wassman of Pepper?

Tiffany Rose Brown: Ahhh, brotherrr! Kaleo has been such a huge blessing in my life, one of my staunchest supporters and sagest advisors. He has given me so many advantages and opportunities and experiences that have changed my life and shaped who I am. Letting me cut my teeth on a real stage. In serious studios. Watching big producers work. Working with professionals. And small things. Knowing my role. Sharing a space. Giving back. I went through a rough patch in LA where I was really sad, and I’d be driving on the 101 and hear myself on KROQ?! And I’d remember, “wow, my friends do cool shit, and I get to be a part of that, and actually maybe I’m not sad at all…” It’s nice to be close with one of your heroes. I admire him for many things. But especially his work ethic. He is super driven, and keeps me motivated and inspired. Not just musically, but in all areas of my life. I’ve watched him sacrifice a lot and work very hard for a really long time, and it’s set a good standard for me.

M&S: Do you know anything about a new reunion of Arena Productions?

Tiffany Rose Brown: Oh my goodness wouldn’t that be rad?!

M&S: What you can say about the localism in Hawaii?

Tiffany Rose Brown: I’ve always been really fortunate not to have to deal with that. Kona is a relatively small community that I’m really active in, so I’ve never had trouble moving around. I think mostly around here, you get respect where you give it. Respect is HUGE. There are people who have been here a short time that do so much for our community and are widely embraced, and then others who were born and raised and after a lifetime here still seem not to know the rules… so the lines of what is “local” get blurred. When I think Local, I think Aloha. I think Malama. I think Kokua. I find Hawaii to be really inclusive. People experience acceptance or rejection based on the merit of their character. I mean, I know it used to be another way. But pretty much these days you only get problems if you make them, and you get what you give.

M&S: Did you make a short film called Feed the Cat? Will you continue acting?

Tiffany Rose Brown: Oh yes… Feed the Cat. My first and only film short! That was a fun project I got to do with really cool people I used make theatre with in Santa Barbara. In my real life, I’m a stage actress… I miss it very much. I produce The Vagina Monologues as a charity benefit for our local women’s shelter every year, and that’s really the only time I get back in the theatre. I’m working on a film right now for Rockwood and Darkline Films here in Kona. I’m super nervous about it. Film is a crazy foreign unexplored world that I have no idea about, so I really wanted to do this project and get my feet wet. I’m also writing a solo performance piece called The Lens and Villains: A Closer Look at Suck, which takes a look at how villains emerge and evolve and what their appeal is. But I finished the first three scenes and got really stoked! And when I'm stoked I don't write. And so I haven’t touched it since. Someday…

Novo single de Kid Mac "Nobody Sleep Nobody Get Hurt", que estará no seu ábum de estréia "No Man's Land", previsto para ser lançado Março/Abril de 2012. O clipe da música conta com imagens exclusivas de seu novo filme "Fighting Fear".

Kid Mac is back with his new single NOBODY SLEEP NOBODY GET HURT from his upcoming debut album release "No Man's Land" (due for release March/April 2012).

The video displays a never-seen-before night surfing session at one of the world's most dangerous breaks known as "Ours". The concept was a brain child of 3 best mates - Kid Mac (Musician / Director), Mark Mathews (Pro Surfer) & Richie Vaculik (Pro Surfer/Fighter).

The footage is also featured in Kid Mac's upcoming film "Fighting Fear" starring Mark Mathews and Richie Vaculik.

"Ours" is situated in the opening of Sydney's Botany Bay and breaks only a few feet away from a cliff face and over shallow waters where razor sharp reef & rocks dwell beneath. It's breeded a number of casualties including a broken neck by Bondi Rescue Lifeguard and surfer Kobi Graham.

There is also the known factor of sharks lurking around the bay!

Mark & Richie (along with 3 other surfers) surfed 10ft + waves from midnight til sunrise.

This is the first time anyone in the world has surfed such life threatening waves at night!

Kid Mac turned this event into a concept to match the video for his new single "Nobody Sleep Nobody Get Hurt"!

The title speaks for itself, but a bigger underlying theme exists with the introduction of zombies and the idea of the 3 best mates pushing their dreams to the limit!

The two young locals from Rio de Janeiro MCFox$$ & McMãe took national proportions without labels and major productions. The irreverent art broadcast by MC Fox$$ and McMãe called by as "Stronda", is causing excitement in the crowd and the thrill chicks wherever he goes. Rodrigo Raposo (MCFox$$) and Victor Castro Neves (McMãe) met in the junior high school of St. Augustine College of Barra da Tijuca. When writing songs uncommitted to any formal or pretentious aesthetics they formed the double Prexeca Bangers, an affront to the rules of etiquette, hypocrisy and conservatism. Their sound was inspired by surf, beaches, girls and nightlubs. They represent the culture of Rio beach bohemian and contemporary. Started with the band Dibob the Prexeca Family, youth movement composed of artists and friends.

McMãe: Estamos tentando dar um atencão especial a cada uma mas no momento fiquei sabendo que a PAPARAZZI vai tocar nas rádios mês que vem! Alem disso estamos trabalhando em dois clipes >Eu Sou O Cara< e uma outra que não está no CD, por isso vou deixar quieto por enquanto…

M&S: Vocês estão preparando novas músicas, como será o lançamento desse novo material?

McMãe: Muitas músicas novas, muitas parcerias tambem! O lançamento será diferente do que fizemos ateh então. Desta vez lançaremos uma por uma para o pessoal baixar pela internet acompanhando o site www.prexeca.com . Eh um retorno a nossa fórmula inicial! Começaremos a intensificar nesse verão o lançamento de novas músicas. Depois juntaremos com algum material inédito e compilaremos nosso segundo CD de maneira mais interativa e informal que o primeiro.

M&S: Quais são suas bandas/artistas favoritos?

McMãe: Difícil enumerar! M&S: Como se dá a influência do surfe e da praia na sua música?

McMãe: A praia eh uma constante na minha vida! Moro aqui desde sempre e gosto de viajar pra conhecer outras. Me inspira e relaxa a formação de ondas sempre mudando e mostrando que a cada segundo acontece alguma coisa diferente… o barulho e o cheiro do mar…os biquinis e seus recheios…o contato com a Natureza…a possibildade de avistar o horizonte sem prédios pra me sufocar…tudo isso eh otimo! O surfe atualmente tem ficado mais no campo das ideias e da contemplação ja q o meu joelho ta me impossibilitando a prática. M&S: Desde que apareceram no cenário musica, vocês ficaram um bom tempo sem lançar novas músicas. Há músicas desse criadas nesses períodos que os fãs poderam ouvir nessa nova fase da carreira de vocês?

McMãe: Claro! A faixa Vagabundos Iluminados eh um exemplo. Muitas outras ainda serão lançadas pois naquela época esbarramos na dificuldade de produzir beats que tivessem a nossa cara! Alguns pilantras tentaram nos dar a volta com armadilhas contratuais o que nos fez perder algum tempo também! Mas nunca deixamos de compor, criar…e minha intenção eh registrar tudo isso!

M&S: Qual a lembrança mais marcante de shows ou da trajetória dos PREXECA BANGERS?

McMãe: Com tantos shows, mulheres e zoacões eh dificil dizer…mas posso destacar o dia em que o Digão do Raimundos (q eu e o Fox eramos fas desde muleke e nos tinham influenciado pelo teor apimentado das letras) nos ligou amarradão falando que tinha oito anos que não ouvia algo tão bom! Hauahuuha Aquilo deu uma animada nele, já tocamos três vezes juntos! Tenho certeza que eles tão retomando com força total!

M&S: Como é para você estar fazendo música com o MC Fox durante todo esses anos?

McMãe: Eh aquela esperança que você tem quando muleque dar certo…Você tem 15 anos e fala pro teu amigo – Imagina se daqui a alguns anos a gente vai estar cantando pra milhares de pessoas, vivendo de música, zoando pra caralho e emplacando vários projetos podendo estar sempre rodeado dos amigos enquanto trabalha… Tenho consciência que muita gente ja sonhou com isso mas não teve as oportunidades que tive. Por isso agradeço todos os dias e me cobro pra fazer dar certo pois acho que temos muita coisa maneira pra passar pra galera sem falar que me da uma satisfação indescritível compor, gravar e fazer show!

M&S: A Nova Mafia Records é uma novo projeto?

McMãe: Não. Ela existe desde 2007. Eh um selo onde produzimos musica boa e original com ousadia!

M&S: Quando a música "Eu Preparei uma Bomba" será lançada?

McMãe: Provavelmente será nosso segundo single a ser lançado! Antes iremos lancar o aguardado hit >Fugi do Hospício!<

My Life é a banda do baixista do Kid Mac Sid Penn, juntamente com o também integrante da banda de Mac, o guitarrista Kieren French. Confira a entrevista com Sid.

My Life is tha band's bassist Sid Penn what is bassist of Kid Mac band, along with fellow band member Mac guitarist Kieren French. Check out the interview with Sid.

M&S: How did you started to make music?

Sid: I starting playing music when I was in year 12 in high school , started my first punk rock band and ever since then I've had the love for music and continued on with this journey.

M&S: What's your favorite bands?

Sid: I grew up on punk rock music so theres quite a few hahaha. Pennywise, NoFx, Kottonmouth kKngs, blink 182 I also like Jordan Millar, Mat Mchugh and John Mayer good chilled out tunes.

M&S: Surf inspires My Life music?

Sid: I wouldn't say surfing has inspired my life music a little has to do with it but mainly skateboarding, that's all I would do when I was growing up, I remember riding our skateboards and catching a local punk rock band at an all ages avenues, and that's what made me want to start playing music.

M&S: You and Kieren French are longtime friends?

Sid: Yeah me and Kieren have been very close friends for 20 years now, we played in bands together in the past and thought it would be a great idea to get him in this project. I have a drummer aswell he's name is Anthony Blinoff you will be seeing more of him in our updates.

M&S: When My Life new music will be released?

Sid: Hard to say at the moment, we have been in and out of the studio for the last month working on our new single (Save Me) we still want to work on it abit more, we really want to make an impact when we release it. So I'm guessing at this stage early next year.

M&S: Any chance of My Life opening a Kid Mac show in Brazil?

Sid: hopefully! That would awesome! If we do it will just be me doing my solo thing. I also play bass for kid Mac on he's live shows so that would be cool to play before him. Especially if it's in Brazil!

M&S: How is to be on tour with Kid Mac?

Sid: Being on tour with Kid Mac is like being away with your close mates. Alot of fun and alot of drinking hahaha. Nah it's great you learn alot from each other and grow from it.

M&S: Any plans for a my life musicvideo?

Sid: Yeah 100% I'm actually writing a script for my first music video so there's one coming very soon with the single.

M&S: How is the life in Hawaii?

SC: Awesome It's paradise! I'm thankful to be from such a beautiful place, thing I love most is that the ocean is always perfect temperature year round.

M&S: Who are yours favorites hip hop artists? and yours favorites locals hawaiian hip hoppers?

SC: Right now I don't have a favorite artist, theres so many great artist I couldn't say just one. Growing up Atmosphere was a big influence to me along with many others. Fav. Hawaii rapper: I'm really digging Kwalified Emcee from Oahu! His stage presence is Monster dudes going places.

M&S: Pepper it's certainly the most famous band from Hawaii... Do you know them?

SC: Pepper is a great band! I dont know the dudes personally but I used to go to Pepper house parties before they blew up!! Kona Town album is their best work!!

M&S: Love Notes feat Splinta is great! It's in you album HI TIMES... more collaborations with Splinta on the way?

SC: Yeah me and Rat Shambles got another track coming out on my follow up album dropping 2012, he'll probably make an appearance on everything I put out.

M&S: Did you will make a collab with Kimie Miner?

SC: Kimie is a good friend of mine and yes we are putting out a track together in the near future. She has the number 1 song in the State right now and is touring constantly, but when we get a moment it'll be legendary.

M&S: Who makes HI TIMES beats?

SC: All of my beats are done by: Kelii Behasa for DSM(deathstylemedia) recently within the last year ive also linked up with our newest crew member Dj Zig-One who is Djing live events, making beats and taking care of all graphic design(twentytwenty). The three of us together make it all possible.

M&S: Do you know FIRNlife a Lifestyle Collective promoting Social and Environmental Sustainability through Media, Art and Design?

SC: I know Firnlife, Haj (Gollestani) is a super cool dude and awesome at what he does. Big ups FIRN.

M&S: There is a sense of local Hawaiian separatism? What you think about this?

SC: To be honest yes, it's a small place with many different races of people, so separatism does occur. I blame alot of it on boredom, if I ever make a good amount of money I plan on building things for the next generation.
